December 31st 2019, The World Health Organization (WHO) is alerted by Chinese officials about dozen of Pneumonia like Case in the city of Wuhan, China, as new year celebrations takes place across the country.

January 1st 2020,the US centers for disease control and prevention(CDC) identify a sea food market in Wuhan suspected to be at the centre of the outbreak.

7th January 2020, China reports its first known death from an illness caused by the new coronavirus. The patient was a 61 years old man in Wuhan.

In January 13 the WHO reports a case in Thailand, the 1st time it has been detected in China.

In January 16, Japan confirms its first case of infection with the novel coronavirus.

In January 20, South Korea reports its first confirmed case of the new coronavirus.

In January 21, The United States announces its first confirmed coronavirus case - a man in his thirties in Washington states.

In January 22, The death toll in China jumps to 17, with more than 550 infection.

January 22, North Korea closes borders to all foreign tourists.
At that day many airports begin to step up checks on flights from Wuhan.

In January 23, China places Wuhan under quarantine. All flights and trains departing from the city are cancelled, buses, subways and ferries within the city are also suspended.

In February 1, Princess cruises confirms that a passanger who was on board the Diamond Princess from Yokohama, Japan, tested positive for the virus.

In February 2, the 1st coronavirus death is reported outside China - a 44 years old Wuhan resident who died in the Philippines.

February 3, China reports 57 new death, bringing the death toll in China to at least 361. The number of cases arises to 17,205 across the country.

February 4, the Diamond Princess cruises ship is quarantined off the coast of Japan with about 3,700 people, incuiding passengers and crew, on board.

February 7, Dr. Li Wenliang, a Chinese doctor who issued a warning about the spread of a new SARS like virus before it was officially recognised, dies from the new coronavirus in Wuhan.
Dr. Li became a hero in China, and his death sparked a wave of public mourning.

February 8, the first US citizen dies from the virus in Wuhan.

February 9, the death toll in mainland China rises to 811, surpassing the number of fatalities from the SARS outbreak in 2003.

February 11, the WHO announces the disease caused by the novel coronavirus will be known by the official name COVID-19. It stands for the coronavirus disease that was discovered in 2019.

February 14, Egypt confirms its first COVID-19 case, becoming the 1st country in Africa to be affected by the outbreak.
In that day the first COVID-19 death is recorded outside Asia, The patient is an 80 years old Chinese tourist who died in France.

February 19, Iran reportes two COVID-19 cases. Hours later, officials confirmed that both patients have died.

February 24, Italy becomes the worst hit country in Europe as cases spike.

February 29, the US announces additional travel restrictions involving Iran and increased warnings about travel to Italy and South Korea.
And that day the first COVID-19 death in the US, a man in his 50s in Washington state, is recorded.

March 6, Trump signs an $8.3 billion emergency spending package to combat the outbreak as the number of global cases hits 100,000.

March 7, in Iran, one of the worse hit countries, with 4,747 reported cases and 124 deaths, recently elected MP Fatemeh Rahbar died from the novel coronavirus.

March 9, all of Italy and its 60 million residents are placed under lock down.

March 10, Lebanon and Morocco both report first deaths from the virus, while democratic Republic of the Congo, Panama and Mongolia confirm first cases of infection.

March 12, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, wife of PM Justin Trudeau, tests positive for the new coronavirus. As a precautionary measure, Trudeau says he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days.

March 16, Canada closes its borders to most foreign travellers and imposes tougher screening measures for visitors as the number of cases in the county increases to approximately 320.

March 20, California issues statewide stay - at - home order, urging residents to only leave home when necessary.
